Connecticut woman facing multiple felony charges stemming from Nashua police ID fraud investigation
Tiffany Clark, age 46, of 43 West Clark Street, West Haven, Connecticut
NASHUA — When police arrested 46-year-old Tiffany Clark for identity fraud Thursday, shortly after a local bank official called to report her alleged use of a fake ID to withdraw cash, the charge would turn out to be the first of several that police would file against her in the next hour or so.
Clark, of 43 West Clark St. in West Haven, Connecticut, is currently held on $5,000 cash bail pending her next court appearance, which, according to her case summary, is a dispositional conference scheduled for Dec. 21 in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.
In all, Clark is charged with three counts of identity fraud, Class A felonies; two counts of falsifying physical evidence, Class B felonies; two counts of manufacture, sale and possession of false identification, Class A misdemeanors, and one count of receiving stolen property, also a Class A misdemeanor.
The series of events that led to the charges against Clark began when an employee of the Citizens Bank branch at 33 Coliseum Ave. called police after Clark allegedly attempted to make a fraudulent cash withdrawal using a fictitious identification card, according to police.
Upon their arrival, officers located Clark “within close proximity of the bank,” and took her into custody.
Detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division furthered the investigation, and they soon learned that Clark allegedly attempted to conduct similarly fraudulent transactions that same afternoon, police said.
The first was at the Citizens Bank branch at 277 Daniel Webster Highway, after which Clark allegedly made her way over to a third Citizens branch, this one at 122 Northeastern Boulevard, according to police. All three occurred within a 35-minute period, police added.
Then, while Clark was being booked on the charges, it was discovered Clark had allegedly concealed evidence related to the crime, police said.
Anyone who may have additional information on the case is asked to contact Nashua police at 594-3500.
