Accused of assaulting, strangling and stalking a woman, Nashua man facing a dozen charges
Josue Dominguez, age 32, of no fixed address, Nashua
NASHUA — The accused assailant of a local woman was taken into custody Monday night, according to police, while the woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained when the assailant, Josue Dominguez, allegedly strangled, assaulted and held her against her will.
Dominguez, 26, who lives in Nashua but currently lists no fixed address, was jailed after being booked on the 12 charges at police headquarters late Monday night.
Police charged Dominguez with one count of domestic violence-related second-degree assault (strangulation), a Class B felony, along with 11 Class A misdemeanors.
Those include seven counts of simple assault — domestic violence; and one count each of false imprisonment, resisting arrest or detention, stalking, and breach of bail, according to police.
Police said that when officers called to the unidentified residence arrived at about 9:40 p.m., Dominguez allegedly took off on foot, but officers caught up to him after a brief pursuit.
The woman told the officers Dominguez allegedly physically assaulted her, including strangling her, earlier in the evening. She was treated at the hospital and later released, police said.
Detectives involved in the investigation discovered that Dominguez was out on bail at the time of the alleged incident, having previously been arrested on domestic violence-related charges, police said.
