MANCHESTER — A former Nashua resident now believed living in Manchester is being sought by police on an arrest warrant, the issuance of which stems from a rather unusual series of incidents that led to the arrests of two other men earlier this month.

The wanted man, Patrick Damboise, 52, is facing charges that include one count of receiving stolen property and two counts of possession of a controlled drug, all felonies, police said.

The receiving charge accuses Damboise of being involved in the theft of a vehicle out of Norwich, Vermont, earlier this month.

On Aug. 4, police came upon Damboise and the two other men — Kevin Poole, 43, and Louis DiFazio, 65, both of Manchester — trying to push a broken-down vehicle to the side of the road near the intersection of Pine and Hanover streets.

The officers activated their emergency blue lights to warn passing traffic, giving the men an extra layer of safety as they pushed the car out of the road. In the meantime, the officers radioed dispatchers the vehicle’s license plate number, and one of them promptly informed the officers that the vehicle had been reported stolen.

By then the men had gotten into the vehicle, prompting the officers to “immediately give them verbal commands to exit the vehicle,” police said.

While Damboise allegedly took off on foot, officers apprehended Poole and Difazio at gunpoint. During a post-arrest search they discovered the two were allegedly in possession of illegal drugs, including heroin/fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine.

It’s not clear whether Poole or Difazio were held in jail following their arrests, or were freed on personal recognizance bail. It appears that Poole was in fact released, as police said they obtained a warrant for Poole’s arrest on drug-possession charges.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Damboise or Poole to call Manchester Police at 668-8711 or the Manchester Crimeline at 624-4040.
