NASHUA – Postponed from June in order to work out logistical matters, the closing ceremony for the 15th annual Nashua International Sculpture Symposium has been rescheduled to Sunday, Aug. 21.

The ceremony begins at 1 p.m., and will take place on the east side of Nashua Fire Rescue Station 4, just off East Hollis Street and along Commercial Street.

The public is invited to attend. There is no charge.

This year’s symposium, which began in mid-May, was the 15th annual event, and was titled “Merriment” in honor of Meri Goyette, one of the symposium founders who passed last year at age 95.

The sculptors – Anna Miller, of New Haven, Connecticut; Brent Howard, of Jersey City, New Jersey; and Corinna D’Schoto, from Greater Boston – are planning on being present for the ceremony, to chat with visitors and discuss their work.

Miller was raised in Tucson, Arizona, and primarily makes kinetic and interactive sculpture. In addition to her sculptural practice, Anna has worked in ceramics, drawing, painting, and custom fabrication.

Howard received a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a MFA from Hunter College, where he studied under the minimalist Robert Morris. Howard also owned and operated Soapstone Studios in Brooklyn from 2002-2007. In 2009, he was hired at Yale University School of Art in the sculpture department.

D’Schoto, based in Boston, works across painting, sculpture, installation and performance, exploring object-body relationships and the power dynamics and inter-subjective realities within constructed space. Her exhibitions include Haul Gallery, Brooklyn; Mall Galleries, London; The Market Gallery, Bolton, UK; the Projektraum, Berlin; Galerie Bipolar, Leipzig; and The Glue Factory, The Pipe Factory, and the Trongate Gallery, all in Glasgow.
