Bomb threats phoned in to at least 10 N.H. colleges and universities
CONCORD — Representatives of the state Department of Safety said this afternoon that they are investigating a series of bomb threats targeting various colleges and universities across the state.
Officials didn’t name any of the institutions that received calls, but said a preliminary investigation revealed that the same phone number was used by a caller “to make bomb threats to approximately 10 higher education facilities” earlier today.
“The caller, who may be from overseas, appears to be using a spoofed number,” officials said, adding that officials “have no information at this time to indicate any of the threats are credible.”
They said the department is working closely with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, and are coordinating the sharing of information with the targeted institutions.
They urge anyone who receives a bomb threat should immediately contact their local law enforcement agency.
Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
