CONCORD – The Mega Millions jackpot is once again on the rise as the New Hampshire Lottery estimates Friday night’s (7/22) Mega Millions jackpot will increase to $660 million, which would make it the 3rd-largest Mega Millions jackpot on record. While there was no jackpot winner in the latest drawing, Cheryl Vossen of Colorado Springs, CO claimed a $1 million Mega Millions prize today (7/21) after purchasing the winning ticket at the Portsmouth NH Liquor & Wine Outlet, located at 100 Rotary Way on the Portsmouth Traffic Circle, for the drawing on Tuesday, July 19. The New Hampshire Lottery expects the one-time cash payout to increase to $376.9 million. (Estimated jackpot amounts are determined before taxes are withheld.)

“If the weather lately has been any indication, the Mega Millions jackpot is only continuing to heat up!” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “We are thrilled for our players, who now have a chance to win the 3rd-largest Mega Millions jackpot of all time. I also want to extend congratulations to Cheryl for her $1 million win in Tuesday’s drawing! We’re hoping that luck carries into tonight’s drawing with a Granite State player winning the $660 million jackpot!”

Cheryl Vossen and her husband Brian traveled to New Hampshire to watch the Ambetter 301 NASCAR race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon this past Sunday. They left Loudon on Monday and stopped in Portsmouth, where they purchased the winning Mega Millions ticket after hearing about the large Mega Millions jackpot during a radio broadcast. The winning ticket was an Easy Pick selection.

Cheryl, who admitted she was still in shock when she was claiming the prize today, told the New Hampshire Lottery this was only the second time she and her husband had played Mega Millions. She and Brian purchased $10 in Mega Millions tickets for Tuesday’s drawing. While they have no specific plans for the prize money, they did say they would like to take a vacation to the Maldives.

Mega Millions drawing results from Tuesday, July 19, were: 02-31-32-37-70 MB-25 with a Megaplier of 3.
