NASHUA — Police have identified the driver killed in a single-car crash last Saturday morning in front of 410 Amherst St. as a 44-year-old resident of Norristown, Pennsylvania.
Michael Tsatsa was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 2:30 in the morning. Come daylight, members of the department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit as well as its Criminal Investigations Division were still on the scene conducting their investigation.
The heavily-damaged vehicle remained on the scene, which had been cordoned off with crime scene tape. Also parked within the taped off area was the Crime Scene Investigation van.
The vehicle had come to rest in the parking lot of the Birch Pond Office Park, a cluster of three office buildings next door to Bertucci’s restaurant and across Amherst Street from Bellwether Credit Union, which is just west of the Amherst Street-Somerset Parkway intersection.
The vehicle, which came to rest in the front of the parking lot closest to Amherst Street, showed heavy damage, and left various vehicle parts and debris in its wake.
Police said at the time that neither drugs or alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash.
