Andrew Lennartson, age 25, of Nashua

NASHUA — Several felony charges have been lodged against Nashua resident Andrew Lennartson, 25, following his arrest Sunday in connection with the shooting of another man at the Casa Vieja Mexican Grill on Main Street.

Police said members of the department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (SWAT) took Lennartson into custody at 1:41 p.m., less than 13 hours after numerous patrol officers responded to the restaurant, at 96 Main St., where they encountered what police described as “a chaotic scene” with an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man, who wasn’t identified, sustained what police described as serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The call came in just before 1 a.m., police said.

Detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division developed information that pointed to Lennartson as the alleged shooter, police said. They applied for, and were granted, a warrant for Lennartson’s arrest, initially on one count of first-degree assault involving a firearm, a special felony.

Following his arrest, Lennartson was additionally charged with two counts of attempted first-degree assault, also special felonies; and one count each of reckless conduct with a firearm and felonious use of firearms, both Class B felonies.

Lennartson was booked on the charges and jailed overnight pending arraignment, which is scheduled to take place today in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.

Police ask anyone who may have additional information on the incident to contact the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
