Nashua man arrested, accused of sending sexually explicit images of ex to her family members

Jason L. Cloutier, 44, of 5 South Groton St., Nashua

NASHUA — At around 9:30 on a recent morning, a Nashua woman walked into police headquarters and met with an officer, telling him that her former boyfriend was allegedly harassing her via phone, and that he allegedly threatened to send sexually explicit photos of her to members of her family.

The officer directed the woman to take out a restraining order that would prohibit her ex from contacting her and her family. The officer then called the ex and told him to stop contacting the woman, and warned him that he could face criminal charges should he follow through on his threats to send the woman’s family members the explicit images.

But less than four hours later, one of the woman’s family members called the officer to report he had received two images of the woman that would qualify “as private sexual images.”

Then, according to police reports, another member of the woman’s family told the officer that she had received “multiple images” of similar nature a week or two earlier, but deleted them.

Roughly 24 hours later, after detectives conducted in-person interviews with the woman and two family members, police took into custody Jason L. Cloutier, 44, of 5 South Groton St., and charged him with two counts of nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images, which are Class B felonies.

They added two misdemeanor counts of breach of bail, which stem from accusations he violated terms of his bail that were set following his May 20 arrest on an unrelated charge of criminal trespass, police said.

According to his case file, Cloutier, on June 2, had failed to appear in court for a dispositional conference in connection with another case. A status conference in that matter is scheduled for June 16, according to the file.

Following his booking on the new charges, Cloutier was held overnight and arraigned Monday in Superior Court. His file indicates that bail was set at $1,000 cash, but it’s unclear whether Cloutier has posted it.

According to the police reports, meanwhile, Cloutier, upon request by police, voluntarily responded to police headquarters for an interview, during which he “admitted to deliberately sending two sexually explicit images” to one of the woman’s family members, and “sending multiple sexually explicit images” to another member within the previous two weeks, police wrote.

Cloutier, police added, also confirmed he was the “sole user of his cell phone and sole user of the phone number” from which the images were allegedly sent.

As he was placed under arrest, police said, Cloutier gave written consent to police to conduct a “complete forensic analysis and extraction of his cell phone.”

Additional charges may be forthcoming, police added.
