WINDHAM — The discovery of a deceased man’s body near the intersection of West Shore and Woodvue roads early Thursday morning triggered an investigation that remains ongoing, authorities said.

Investigators are calling the man’s death “suspicious,” and said the circumstances surrounding the incident “are being actively investigated.”

Police, firefighters and EMS personnel were called at about 7 a.m. to the scene, which is off of West Shore Road just south of Range Road (Route 111A) on the west side of Canobie Lake.

Members of a paving crew working in the area discovered the body near a portable bathroom on the side of the road where they were working.

Indications are that the body had been there for an extended period of time. No medical treatment was administered.
