NASHUA – What’s retired, 40 feet long, painted bright neon pink and full of beer and liquor?
Boston Billiard Club & Casino’s new “container bar,” of course.
It’s a concept new to this region but is earning rave reviews in the nation’s wamer climes, where the renovated and appropriately outfitted venues have been popping up for 10 years.
Judging from the response at last weekend’s “soft opening,” BBC’s newest venue venture is full of promise, according to Kevin McMahon, the club’s marketing director.
“It’s been a huge hit,” McMahon said, referring to the responses from patrons who showed up during the soft opening last weekend.

He said the club “is thrilled to introduce the all-new ‘container bar,’ a full-service outdoor bar built entirely from a retired 40-foot shipping container.”
An eye-catcher with its bright neon pink color, the container is the centerpiece of the club’s outdoor beer garden, situated among the tables and chairs with canopy umbrellas and two fire pits.
The bar itself, McMahon said, is outfitted with both sun and shade seating, multiple television screens and eight rotating draft beer lines.
McMahon said “the increased popularity of outdoor dining,” which is most common in downtown districts, was behind the decision to “bring a concept popularized in warmer climates to the Granite State.”
The neon pink color, he added, “will bring tropical vibes to Southern New Hampshire.”
