Trial gets underway today in Nashua man’s multi-charge felonious sexual assault case
Cleve Wilmot, 52, last known address, 23 Congress St., Apt. 10, Nashua
NASHUA — Cleve Wilmot, the now 52-year-old Nashua man arrested in late 2018 on charges accusing him of sexually assaulting an underage girl on multiple occasions over five years, goes on trial beginning today in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.
Wilmot, whose last known address is 23 Congress St., Nashua, was indicted on a total of nine charges in 2019, including seven counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault — pattern sexual assault, which allege Wilmot sexually assaulted the girl on more than one occasion over a period of two months or more, and within a period of five years.
One of those charges was nol prossed, or dropped, in recent proceedings.
The other two charges are aggravated felonious sexual assault — (alleged) victim under age 13; and felonious sexual assault — (alleged) victim age 13-15, according to Wilmot’s case summary.
Jury selection took place Monday, and the jury was empaneled by the end of the day. The trial is estimated to run three days, today through Thursday.
