Nashua teen facing pattern sex-assault, witness tampering charges; scheduled for arraignment today
Brandon Gilbert, 19, of Nashua
NASHUA — Patrol officers on Wednesday took into custody Nashua resident Brandon Gilbert, 19, on a warrant that was issued for his arrest following an investigation by detectives with the department’s Special Investigations Division into “multiple sexual assaults,” police said.
Gilbert, whose street address wasn’t provided by police, is charged with one count each of aggravated felonious sexual assault — pattern, a special felony, and tampering with witnesses and informants, a Class B felony.
He was booked on the charges, then jailed after refusing bail, police said. His arraignment is scheduled for today in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.
Gilbert and the alleged victim, who was under the age of 13 at the time of the alleged assaults, know each other, police said.
The alleged victim, whose gender wasn’t provided by police, reported the allegations against Gilbert on March 18, police said.
The charges accuse Gilbert of sexually assaulting the individual “several times over a five year period,” police added.
The tampering charge accuses Gilbert of contacting the alleged victim after he or she disclosed the alleged assaults. He allegedly attempted to persuade the person from continuing to speak about the alleged assaults, police said.
Anyone who may have additional information on the case is urged to call the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
