Kelsey Small dies at 27; was Adam Montgomery’s girlfriend
MANCHESTER — Kelsey Small, the woman who was with Adam Montgomery when police found him sleeping in a car late last year, has died of causes that authorities say are not yet determined.
Small, 27, died March 13 in Manchester, police said. She was the current girlfriend of Adam Montgomery, the father of Harmony Montgomery, the 7-year-old girl who has been missing since October 2019.
Small’s death is not considered suspicious, according to police, although officials said the exact cause of death has not been determined. In many cases in New Hampshire, the results of toxicology tests done as part of an autopsy can take months to be completed.
Small’s death was first reported on the True Crime Sisters Twitter account.
Police are still searching for Harmony Montgomery who was reported missing in December 2021. As part of the investigation, police had been searching for Adam Montgomery when they found him sleeping in a car he was living out of on Harvell Street on New Years Eve. Small was with him at the time, officials said.
Police questioned Montgomery and Small at the time, but they didn’t arrest either of them or hold them on any charges.
Small told police she never talked about Harmony Montgomery with Adam Montgomery, and had no information on where she might be, according to information released by police and in court documents.
Small was not charged in connection with Harmony’s case. At the time, she had been dating Adam Montgomery for more than a year.
Adam Montgomery was later arrested and accused of assaulting Harmony and endangering the welfare of a child.
Adam Montgomery had broken off a relationship with Kayla Montgomery, his second wife, who now faces several charges involving welfare fraud and collecting benefits for Harmony Montgomery when she was not living with her.
Meanwhile, police in Manchester and from other law enforcement agencies continue to actively investigate Harmony’s disappearance.
Investigators urge anyone who may have any information regarding Harmony’s whereabouts to call or text 603-203-6060, the number for the dedicated tip line police set up earlier in the investigation. The line is staffed 24 hours a day.
The reward offered for information that leads investigators to Harmony currently stands at $144,000.
