Former athletic director charged with felonious assault of a child

PELHAM – On Friday, James Parker, 24 years of age, from Methuen, Massachusetts, turned himself into detectives on an active arrest warrant. Parker is charged with two felony counts of felonious sexual contact with a child over the age of 13, and one misdemeanor charge of interference with custody in-state. All the charges stemmed from an incident that took place on November 14, 2021.
Pelham Detectives began an active investigation after being contacted at the end of November 2021 by the Lowell Police Department. Lowell detectives told them they were investigating a crime that took place in their city and may have also occurred in the town of Pelham. Detectives conducted their own investigation and as a result, and they completed an arrest warrant for Parker.
Parker was charged with two felony counts of Felonious Sexual Contact with a child over the age of 13, and one misdemeanor charge of Interference with Custody in-state. All the charges stemmed from an incident that took place on November 14, 2021.
At the time of the alleged offense(s), Parker was an employee at the same educational institution as the child. He had been employed as the athletic director at Saint Michaels School in Lowell.
Parker was released on personal recognizance bail, and he is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough South Superior Court in Nashua at a later date.
