Somebody ‘saw something’ somewhere near Dr. Crisp school and ‘said something,’ says superintendent of schools
NASHUA — Because someone saw something and said something, Nashua police are investigating some type of suspicious activity that reportedly occurred in “the extended neighborhood” of Dr. Norman W. Crisp Elementary School, Superintendent of Schools Garth McKinney said Wednesday.
“Our students remain safe because “see something, say something works,” McKinney added.
McKinney’s comments “follow a message” that Dr. Crisp principal Cherrie Fulton sent early Wednesday morning “to her school’s families and staff to ask them to remind students to be aware of strangers, and if they see something, say something,” School District spokeswoman Stacy Hynes said in a statement.
Information on the nature of the suspicious activity, and whether police made any arrests, wasn’t provided.
The police department’s online call log shows the department received a call at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday from 50 Arlington St., which is the address of Dr. Crisp School, reporting “suspicious activity.”
The statement made reference to information on the School District website regarding “see something, say something.
“If you see, hear or know something that might affect the safety of a school, say something. Report suspicious activity to school staff or Nashua police at 594-3500, or on the department’s Crime Line, 589-1665.
According to the website, “see something, say something is a philosophy the Nashua School District adopted nearly four years ago and continues to promote, to help keep our schools, our students, and our staff safe.”
