CONCORD -The New Hampshire Democratic Party announced today that Minnesota’s U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar will join Granite State Democrats on the Seacoast for a diamond celebration of one of New Hampshire’s most beloved and illustrious political leaders, Senator Martha Fuller Clark. The Martha Fuller Clark Diamond Birthday Celebration will take place on Saturday, March 5 in Portsmouth, Senator Clark’s hometown.

“The path to holding and expanding the Democratic majority in Congress runs through New Hampshire. I am thrilled to be back in the Granite State — in Jeanne Shaheen country — to help support great candidates up and down the ballot, including my good friend and colleague in the Senate, Senator Maggie Hassan, as well as Congresswoman Annie Kuster and Congressman Chris Pappas,” said U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar. “I’m also looking forward to seeing some old friends and joining so many others in celebrating the hard work and leadership of Senator Martha Fuller Clark.”

“I’m thrilled that Senator Klobuchar will be back in New Hampshire in support of New Hampshire Democrats and to celebrate Senator Fuller Clark’s remarkable legacy and birthday. Senator Klobuchar is somewhat of an honorary Granite Stater, so it’s exciting that she’ll be back to bolster New Hampshire Democrats’ message for working families, which is about increasing job opportunities, improving access to child care and affordable housing and lowering prescription drug costs. This event is a wonderful opportunity for New Hampshire Democrats to come together and focus on the path ahead to deliver for middle-class families, and it’s great to see Senator Klobuchar help us amplify those priorities,” said U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen.

“From standing up for our democracy to pushing to lower the cost of prescription drugs, Senator Klobuchar is a leader who gets results for families in New Hampshire and across the country. It is an honor to welcome Senator Klobuchar back to the Granite State to celebrate my friend Martha Fuller Clark’s pioneering life of service to the people of New Hampshire,” said U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan.

“I am truly excited and pleased to have Senator Amy Klobuchar join me in celebrating my birthday this year. It is such an important time for us as we work to re-elect Senator Hassan, Representatives Kuster and Pappas, and elect Granite State Democrats up and down the ballot. The Seacoast will be an especially critical path to our victory in November and having Senator Klobuchar here to help elect Granite State Democrats this November will be a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday,” said Senator Martha Fuller Clark.

“It is an honor to have Senator Klobuchar back with us in the Granite State. Thanks to the leadership of the Biden-Harris Administration and our Congressional delegation, we are finally in a place where the vast majority of Granite State Democrats are vaccinated and can safely gather. Whether virtually or in-person, I look forward to welcoming everyone to celebrate the extraordinary Senator Martha Fuller Clark’s milestone birthday with us,” said NHDP Chair Ray Buckley.

Senator Martha Fuller Clark serves as the Vice-Chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party and as a member of Democratic National Committee. In her seven terms as State Senator, her time as Senate President Pro Tempore, and six terms as a State Representative representing Portsmouth, and through her two-time candidacy as Congressional nominee, she advocated for issues like affordable health care, quality education, civil rights, women’s rights, and protecting our environment.

Senator Clark was a co-chair of the New Hampshire Committee to elect Barack Obama President of the United States in 2008 and in 2012, and was a superdelegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention. She was a fierce advocate for President Barack Obama and President Biden, and fought tooth and nail for their respective presidential campaigns.

Proof of vaccination and temperature checks will be required for all attendees.
