Red Sox slugger David Ortiz elected to Hall of Fame

The Red Sox longtime designated hitter, helping the team win three World Series titles, was the only player elected to baseball’s Hall of Fame in voting by members of the Baseball Writers Association of America. Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens were denied in their 10th and final year on the ballot.
