Free parking in effect for parts of downtown Nashua through Jan. 1

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Reporter | Dec 8, 2021

The color-coded downtown Nashua parking map shows the three designated zones. Free parking is in effect in Zone III through Jan. 1.

NASHUA — The Board of Aldermen, in the spirit of the holiday season, passed an ordinance again this year to offer free parking in a portion of downtown Nashua through the end of the year.

The free meters can be found in Zone III and the Elm Street and High Street parking garages.

To see the map showing Zone I (red), Zone II (blue) and Zone III (green), go to www.nashuanh.gov, mouse over “government” and click on “parking.”

But even without looking at the map, it will be easy to spot the free meters: they’re the ones covered by red canvas bags.

The meters in Zones I and II will be operating with their usual time limits, and parking enforcement personnel will be out and about enforcing the posted time limits.

Free parking in Zone III will be in effect through Jan. 1, 2022.
