Nashua man arrested in connection with September hammer assault
Dakota Gladstone, 23, of 58 Perham St., Nashua
NASHUA — A 23-year-old resident of Nashua’s French Hill neighborhood is facing three Class A felony assault charges accusing him of beating another man about the head with a hammer during a disturbance at an undisclosed local residence.
Dakota Gladstone, of 58 Perham St., is also charged with a Class B felony count of convicted felons, a charge resulting from his alleged possession of a dangerous or deadly weapon, which is prohibited for individuals previously convicted of a felony.
Officers took Gladstone into custody around 3:30 p.m. Sunday on the warrant that detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division had issued for his arrest.
Police said officers who responded to the disturbance around 11 p.m. on Sept. 23 found the alleged victim suffering from “a severe head injury,” and called for an ambulance to the scene.
The man was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were deemed serious, but not considered life-threatening, police said.
A subsequent investigation led to Gladstone as the suspect, which prompted detectives to issue the arrest warrant.
Gladstone was booked on the three first-degree assault charges and the convicted felons count, and later released on $1,000 cash bail pending arraignment, which will take place in Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a date to be determined.
Police ask anyone who may have more information about the incident to call the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
