DERRY — Police have taken a 23-year-old Londonderry man into custody on a reckless conduct charge in connection with the shooting death last week of a Derry resident.

Justin Best was arraigned in Rockingham County Superior Court on the charge, which is a Class B felony.

Best is accused of shooting Tyler Andrews, 24, of Derry, who succumbed to the resulting injuries at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, according to police.

Police and firefighters were called to 27 Linlew Drive Monday night for a report of a man lying on the floor in the hallway of the apartment building, which is part of a large complex off Bypass 28 called Derry Country Club Estates.

Detectives were at Linlew Drive throughout the day processing the scene.

Earlier in the day, a Derry police officer was stationed outside a residence on Atlas Place, where police had responded Monday night for a man who had superficial stab wounds from a fight that occurred in Derry.

The incidents were dispatched within 30 minutes of each other, and are believed to be connected.
