Arraignment set today for 19-year-old facing several charges alleging domestic assault
NASHUA — Police took into custody over the weekend a 19-year-old local man identified as Derick Rudy, who is alleged to have strangled, and otherwise assaulted, an adult woman known to him.
Police said Rudy, whose last known address is 47 Chandler St., was charged by members of the department’s Special Investigations Division Domestic Violence Unit with one count of second-degree assault — domestic violence (strangulation), a Class B felony, and four counts of simple assault — domestic violence, Class A misdemeanors.
Police said they received a report two days before Rudy’s arrest accusing him of allegedly “committing numerous domestic violence-related offenses.”
Rudy was booked on the charges and ordered held over the weekend on $5,000 cash bail pending arraignment, which is scheduled for today in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.
