Arrested in Massachusetts, Tamworth man returned to Nashua to face exposure, lewdness charges
NASHUA — An investigation that began nearly a year ago into allegations a resident of the central New Hampshire town of Tamworth was communicating online with an individual he believed to be a child has culminated in his arrest.
Police said Troy Drew, 34, of 45 Northway Road, was taken into custody in Massachusetts on a warrant Nashua detectives had issued for his arrest.
Once extradited back to New Hampshire, Drew was booked on one count each of certain uses of computer services prohibited, and indecent exposure and lewdness, both of which are Class B felonies.
Drew initially refused bail, police said, but he was later released on personal recognizance pending arraignment, which is scheduled for Nov. 18 in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.
Police said members of the department’s Crimes Against Children Unit began investigating “the sexual exploitation of children on the Internet where a subject, identified as Drew, was (allegedly) communicating with an individual he believed to be a child.”
Police ask that anyone who has further information regarding this or other cases, or who wishes to anonymously report a case or cases, to call the department’s CrimeLine at 589-1665.
