Hollis police confident the man they arrested early Thursday is the alleged nighttime car burglar they’ve been seeking

HOLLIS — The man depicted in residential surveillance videos shared by police is likely the same one officers chased down and arrested early Thursday morning, thanks to a call from a resident who reported seeing someone allegedly rummaging through vehicles.

Nashua resident Sean Gerber, 37, “immediately took flight upon seeing the police” when officers arrived on Alsun Drive at 4:40 a.m., police said.

A brief foot pursuit ensued, police said, at which time Gerber was taken into custody.

Police said Gerber was charged with one count each of resisting arrest and theft, which are misdemeanors — but, they added, “it is anticipated that more charges will be forthcoming upon the completion of the investigation.”

Gerber was booked and released on $500 cash bail pending arraignment, which will take place at a later date at Nashua district court.

“The Hollis Police Department is confident that Gerber is responsible for multiple thefts from vehicles that have taken place in several jurisdictions across southern New Hampshire over the past week,” Captain Brendan LaFlamme said in a statement.

The department expressed its thanks to members of the Nashua, Hudson, Mont Vernon and Pelham police departments “for their assistance in this lengthy investigation,” LaFlamme added.

Anyone with any information on the case can contact Hollis police headquarters at 465-7637.
