NASHUA — Police this week took into custody a 69-year-old Nashua man who lists no fixed address, charging him with a felony offense accusing him of sexually assaulting a child under age 13.

Richard McManus faces one Class B felony count of felonious sexual assault — domestic violence, victim under age 13, according to police.

McManus’s arrest stems from information police said they received on Sept. 18 alleging that McManus assaulted the alleged victim.

The two know each other, police said.

Detectives with the department’s Special Investigations Division identified McManus as the suspect in the incident, police said. They issued a warrant for his arrest, on which they took him into custody without incident.

McManus was booked on the charge but refused bail, and was ordered held on preventive detention pending arraignment.
