James Lebel, 48, of 4 Heritage Drive, Nashua

NASHUA — Special Investigations Division detectives, based on a report taken by patrol officers of a possible sexual assault involving a juvenile in Nashua, developed a suspect and had him taken into custody last week.

Arrested was James Lebel, 48, of 4 Heritage Village Drive, Apt. 304, who faces two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault — victim under age 13, which are classified as special felonies.

Police said the alleged incident or incidents that led to the charges occurred on Sept. 4, and were reported to police two days later.

Lebel and the alleged victim are known to each other, police said.

Lebel was booked on the charges and initially held without bail, but that was amended to personal recognizance at his arraignment, court documents state.

He is next due in court Tuesday for a review hearing. A dispositional conference is tentatively set for Dec. 8.

Police ask that anyone who has any further information on the case contact the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665. Callers may remain anonymous.
