FBI seeking assistance from the public in identifying suspect accused of assaulting federal officers at Jan. 6 insurrection

BOSTON — The FBI on Wednesday released a series of photos depicting a man whose identity agents are seeking in connection with assaults he allegedly committed against federal officers defending the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

The man is pictured wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt with a “Berkshire Nautilus” logo, which is a local health club in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing roughly 225 pounds.

He is described as having a stocky build, and has white hair and brown eyes. He is estimated to be in his mid to late 50s, officials said.

“We are working very closely with our law enforcement and private sector partners to identify those who attempted to use violence and destruction to intimidate, coerce, or affect the conduct of our government,” said Joseph R. Bonavolonta, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Boston Division.

“We are asking the public to take a close look at these photos and to reach out to us if you know who this man is. We believe he was involved in a violent assault on federal officers and no amount of information is too small or irrelevant,” Bonavolonta added.

Anyone with information about the man’s identity is urged to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or go to tips.fbi.gov to submit information.

Anyone submitting information is asked to reference #141 — which is the number of the assault on federal officer photo.
