Nashua man, 51, facing felony sexual assault, strangulation allegations
Richard Theriault, 51, of no fixed address, Nashua
NASHUA — Police over the holiday weekend took into custody Richard Theriault, a Nashua resident with no fixed address, following an investigation into a report they received in mid-August accusing Theriault of assaulting an individual known to him.
Detectives with the Special Investigations Division were assigned the case, and upon further investigation they identified Theriault as the person allegedly responsible for the assault.
The charges filed against Theriault include one count each of aggravated felonious sexual assault, a special felony; second-degree assault — strangulation, Class B felony; sexual assault, Class A misdemeanor; and two counts of simple assault, Class A misdemeanors.
Police didn’t say whether Theriault, after being booked on the charges, was ordered held in jail or if bail was set, and if so, whether he made bail.
His next court date wasn’t provided.
Police ask that anyone with any additional information on the case call the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
