MERRIMACK — Two Manchester women were charged with drunk driving Thursday evening, shortly after “a concerned citizen” called police after noticing two vehicles sitting on the side of Continental Boulevard, police said.

Taken into custody were Jennifer St. Pierre, 26, of

314 Dubuque St., and Terahja Vanay Content-Williams, 25, of 155 N. Adams St., who each face charges of operating under the influence of liquor.

St. Pierre was also charged with possession of marijuana, police said, after officers allegedly found more than three-quarters of an ounce of the substance in her vehicle.

Both were booked and later released on personal recognizance bail pending their appearances in Merrimack district court. Both are scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. on Sept. 7.

Police didn’t say whether the fact the two women had both pulled over in the same place was a coincidence, or if they know each other and were headed somewhere when they pulled over and allegedly fell asleep in their respective vehicles.

They did say that officers “detected signs of impairment on both women,” and that both submitted to breath tests, which police said showed each had an alcohol content above the legal limit of .08.
