Grounding breaking for new middle school set for fall

By Staff | Jul 29, 2021

NASHUA – A new three-story middle school, which will be constructed near Buckmeadow Road and Cherrywood Drive near Captain’s Corner, will break ground this fall.

Although some city residents raised numerous concerns in opposition of the planned $82 million middle school, all necessary land acquisitions have been finalized.

Alderman Richard Dowd, chairman of the Nashua Joint Special School Building Committee recently stated that the city has the signed purchase-and-sale for the last piece of property needed for access to the new middle school, which will replace Elm Street Middle School in the fall of 2024.

The Harriman architectural and urban planning firm stated work is to commence this fall with building construction set to begin next spring.
