The Coffey Post baseball team now knows its opponent in Tuesday’s American Legion State Championship at Holman Stadium: Portsmouth.

It took Portsmouth two wins Monday night to earn the right to take on Coffey Post at 4 p.m. Tuesday by topping Keene, 3-1, then knocking off Laconia in a 9-7 slugfest.

If Nashua wins at 4 p.m., it will take the crown and prepare for the Northeast Regional Tournament beginning Aug. 3 at Shrewsbury, Mass.

Should Portsmouth win the 4 p.m. contest there will be a showdown at 7 p.m. at Holman.

Nashua topped Portsmouth, 4-2, on Saturday in the double-elimination tourney.
