Nashua Senior Activity Center revamps programs thanks to grant

By Staff | Jul 24, 2021

NASHUA – The Nashua Senior Activity Center received a grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation to pivot the types of classes offered to include a broader selection with smaller class sizes.

More music, cooking and special interest classes will be offered as a result of the grant.

The Nashua Senior Activity Center recently received $10,000 from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. The grant will help further the Nashua Senior Activity Center’s mission, “to promote healthy aging, independence and the well-being of older adults through health, wellness, educational, cultural and recreational programs and services.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer additional classes, such as ukulele, guitar, piano and baking that will all feature smaller class sizes,” said Judy Kunz Porter, development director of the Nashua Senior Activity Center.

The Nashua Senior Activity Center is located at 70 Temple St. in Nashua.

The Nashua Senior Activity Center is a 100% self-funded resource for the seniors in Greater Nashua.

Membership is open to those 50 and over for only $40 per year, or $60 per year for two in the same household.
