Litchfield man’s gun-related road-rage case proceeding in court

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Writer | Jun 30, 2021

Demetrius Taylor, 27, of Litchfield

MANCHESTER – Traffic was stop-and-go in the area of West Bridge and McGregor streets, a motorist told police, so when the vehicle in front of him stopped moving, the motorist prodded the driver by blowing his horn.

The driver, later identified as Demetrius Taylor, 27, of Litchfield, was apparently a bit miffed at the motorist’s attempt to get him to move, so he responded by allegedly getting out of his vehicle armed with a handgun, which, according to police, he allegedly pointed at the other driver while walking toward him.

Police didn’t specify, but it appears no shots were fired, and both drivers went on their way. The driver whom Taylor allegedly threatened contacted police, providing them with a description of the SUV and the circumstances of the incident, police said.

A short time later, according to police, an officer on his way to the area spotted an SUV matching the description of the suspect vehicle.

Police said additional officers responded to the area, and the SUV was spotted again – this time on Route 293 South. Officers followed it and pulled it over on the Everett Turnpike, police said.

They charged Taylor with one count of criminal threatening, and he was also found to have a warrant pending out of Hooksett.
