Suspect allegedly soils Hudson police cruiser, booking room floor after DWI arrest

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Reporter | Jun 15, 2021

HUDSON – What was described by a witness as a “possible disturbance” inside a white van parked in the lot of Benson Park early Saturday morning prompted calls to police, who ended up arresting a Massachusetts man on a driving while intoxicated charge, police said.

Although Jason Shea, 41, of Dracut, drove off before officers arrived at Benson Park, they spotted the van pulling into a residence on nearby Kimball Hill Road, according to reports.

There, after speaking with Shea, the officers took him into custody after determining he was allegedly driving while under the influence, police said.

But things would soon get a bit messy, as Shea, while being transported to police headquarters for booking, allegedly deficated in the cruiser – then allegedly did so two more times, both on the booking room floor, police said.

Those alleged actions added three counts of criminal mischief to the driving while intoxicated and disobeying an officer charges police initially filed against Shea.

Once he was booked, Shea was transported to Valley Street jail to await his arraignment, which was scheduled for Monday in Nashua district court.

As for the “possible disturbance” witnesses initially reported taking place inside the van, police didn’t describe what it may have entailed, but they did say that when the officers caught up to it, Shea was the only person inside.
