NASHUA – Several charges, including two felonies, have been filed against a Derry resident in connection with an alleged domestic assault over the weekend in Nashua.

Adam Smith, 39, of 4 Overlook Drive, was jailed pending a court appearance scheduled for Monday in Hillsborough County Superior Court South, according to police.

Detectives investigating the incident, which involved a woman known to Smith, police said, charged Smith with one count each of second-degree assault – domestic violence, and conduct after an accident, both Class B felonies, along with three Class A misdemeanor couints of simple assault – domestic violence.

Police didn’t say whether the alleged assault involved any type of weapon, nor did they elaborate on the nature of the allegations that led to the conduct after an accident charge.

They also didn’t say whether the alleged victim was injured in the alleged assault, or if so, what the nature and severity of the injuries were.
