CONCORD – The arrests of four men Wednesday brings to 11 the number of suspects charged in connection with the state’s investigation into sexual assault allegations at the former Youth Development Center in Manchester.

The four men, all in their 50s, are accused of sexually assaulting individuals who resided at the facility, now called the John H. Sununu Youth Services Center, between 1997 and 2007.

The new arrests, which the office of Deputy Attorney General Jane Young announced Wednesday afternoon, come two weeks after seven men were taken into custody on similar allegations.

“The investigation into child abuse allegations occurring at YDC and YDSU remains active and ongoing,” according to the statement from Young’s office, which refers to the Youth Development Center, the Sununu Youth Services Center (SYSC) and the Youth Detention Services Unit (YDSU) in Concord.

The arrests “do not represent the culmination of the investigation, but are merely the next step forward in this comprehensive and multi-faceted investigation,” according to the statement.
