CONCORD — On Saturday, U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster joined a deployment ceremony for the members of the New Hampshire National Guard 169th Aviation Regiment before a yearlong overseas deployment to Kosovo in support of Operation Joint Guardian (KFOR). During the ceremony, Kuster thanked the guardsmen for their service to New Hampshire and the country.

“The brave men and women of the 169th Aviation Regiment who will travel halfway around the world to serve our country represent the best of New Hampshire,” said Rep. Kuster. “Their exemplary service to our nation and state has earned our deepest gratitude. To the 24 servicemen and women of the 169th, as you prepare to deploy, regardless of whether this is your first deployment or your fourth, please know how much the people of NH appreciate your sacrifice and service. Your commitment to duty is a testament to the strength of our society and gives us all hope for the future. God bless all of our service members, our veterans, and their families.”

The New Hampshire National Guard Members honored in today’s ceremony will deploy overseas for a year as part of Operation Joint Guardian (KFOR) to provide general aviation support to NATO forces in order to maintain a safe and secure environment.
