Yelling, banging noises draw police to Merrimack hotel; Nashua man arrested

Cameron Lafontaine, 27, of 30 Bradford St., Nashua

MERRIMACK – Calls to police early Sunday morning reporting loud yelling and banging coming from a room at a local motel would lead to the arrest of a Nashua man, police said.

Cameron Lafontaine, 27, of 30 Bradford St., was in the parking lot of the Woodspring Suites when officers arrived, and upon spotting them allegedly ran from them and tried to hide under a truck, according to police.

He was taken into custody without further incident, and charged with one count each of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Police said callers initially reported hearing the noise, which seemed to be rooted in a loud argument in one of the rooms, and said they saw a man “walking the halls.”

Moments later, another caller told police a man was out in the motel parking lot, where he allegedly appeared to be letting the air out of a car’s tires.

The man was later identified as Lafontaine, police said, and he was placed under arrest moments later.

He was taken to police headquarters, booked on the charges and later released on personal recognizance bail pending his April 27 arraignment in Merrimack district court.
