Brandon Enderson, 27, of 22 Everett St., Derry

MERRIMACK – Upon noticing a vehicle parked in odd fashion in a local lot late last week, a police officer stopped to check it out, and found the vehicle running with the window down and a man allegedly passed out in the driver’s seat, according to police.

It took several attempts, including hollering at him and shaking him, but the officer was finally able to awaken the man, later identified as Brandon Enderson, 27, of 22 Everett St., Derry, who then agreed to perform a field sobriety test, police said.

But when the officer determined from the tests that Enderson was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and informed Enderson he was under arrest, Enderson allegedly grew uncooperative, attempted to pull away from the officer, then tried to take off running, police said.

During an ensuing struggle, Enderson allegedly punched the officer in the face, according to police. But backup officers arrived at that point, and Enderson was soon in police custody, police said.

He is charged with two counts of resisting arrest, and one count each of assault on a police officer and driving while intoxicated – subsequent offense.

Enderson was transported to police headquarters for booking on the charges, then later released on personal recognizance bail pending arraignment, which police said will occur at Hillsborough County Superior Court South on a date yet to be determined.
