Greg Surbey, 37, last known address of 10 Dane St., Nashua

TYNGSBOROUGH – The body discovered by boaters in the Merrimack River near a Tyngsborough boat ramp two weeks ago has been identified as that of Greg Surbey, the Nashua man who was reported missing March 10.

Nashua police said today that although foul play is not suspected, an investigation into Surbey’s disappearance and death is ongoing.

Surbey, 37, who ran unsuccessfully for Ward 6 alderman in 2015 and for the Board of Education in 2019, was reported missing by a person described by police as “a longtime friend” of Surbey’s.

They said at the time that Surbey’s family hadn’t heard from him since Feb. 5. They told police they considered that “very out of character” for him.

Police released no further details, except to say that “his family requests, and appreciates, privacy at this time.”
