MERRIMACK – A Manchester man considered armed and dangerous and ‘known to resist arrest’ is back in the custody of Manchester police, thanks to the efforts of Merrimack officers who apprehended him as he arrived at a local hotel last week.

Adrian Renard Hardin, 26, of 145 Pearl St., drove into the Holiday Inn parking lot shortly after midnight, then got out of his car to find Merrimack officers in front of him, police said. He was promptly taken into custody without further incident.

Manchester police had contacted Merrimack officials upon learning that Hardin may have been staying at the Holiday Inn. They said they had an active warrant for Hardin’s arrest on charges of second-degree assault, simple assault and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Merrimack police charged Hardin with one count each of receiving stolen property and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, they said.

The receiving charge stems from allegations that Hardin stole the car he was operating in Manchester.

Once Merrimack police booked Hardin on their charges, they released him to the custody of Manchester authorities, police said.

He will be arraigned on the Merrimack charges in Hillsborough County Superior Court South at a date yet to be determined.
