Ernie Garcia-Cintron, 18, of 38 Perham St., Nashua

NASHUA – A six-month investigation into the armed robbery of a person on or near the Nashua Heritage Rail Trail has yielded the arrest of three individuals, two of whom are juveniles, according to police.

The oldest of the three, Ernie Garcia-Cintron, 18, of 38 Perham St., was taken into custody late last week and charged with one count of robbery, a Class A felony, police said.

He is accused of physically holding the alleged victim as one of the juveniles allegedly displayed a weapon and “directed it toward” the alleged victim, according to police.

Police didn’t specify the actual charges filed against the juveniles, except to say one is accused of participating in the incident and the other allegedly coordinated the robbery.

The alleged victim was not injured during the incident, police said, adding that Garcia-Cintron and the juveniles allegedly took items belonging to the victim and fled the area.

Special Investigations Division detectives assigned to the case eventually identified Garcia-Cintron as a suspect, and issued a warrant for his arrest.

At some point, detectives also identified the juveniles accused of taking part in the incident and had them arrested as well.

Garcia-Cintron was booked on the charge following his arrest. Bail was set at $500, which, according to court documents, was posted by a family member.

The date of his next court appearance has yet to be scheduled.

Police ask anyone with any additional information on the case to contact the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
