Drivers’ spat in coffee shop drive-through line leads to felony gun charges

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Reporter | Mar 12, 2021

Ryan Keller, 34, of Manchester

PELHAM – Apparently miffed that a woman ahead of him in a Dunkin Donuts drive-through line didn’t pull forward quickly enough, a Manchester man allegedly began shouting at her, triggering a verbal argument that eventually led to his arrest, police said.

The argument escalated when the 26-year-old woman, a Pelham resident police didn’t identify, reportedly got out of her car and approached the other driver, identified by police as 34-year-old Ryan Keller of Manchester.

As the back-and-forth continued, police said, Keller allegedly brandished a firearm and pointed it at the woman, who called police shortly after the alleged combatants drove off from the Dunkin’s at 123 Bridge St.

Officers who responded to the location spoke with several witnesses who said they saw Keller allegedly pointing a gun at the woman, police said.

Given a description of Keller’s truck by the witnesses, officers spotted the vehicle farther north on Bridge Street and pulled it over.

They arrested Keller without incident, police said, charging him with one count each of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and criminal threatening, both of which are Class B felonies.

The officers also seized Keller’s gun, police said.

He was booked on the charges and later released on $2,500 cash bail pending his arraignment, which will take place at Hillsborough County Superior Court South in Nashua on a date yet to be determined.

Police ask that anyone who witnessed the incident contact Corporal James Locke at 635-2411, or submit a tip via Tip411.
