MERRIMACK – A multi-agency investigation into the drug overdose death of 25-year-old Matthew Bailey, whose body was found alongside the Daniel Webster Highway three years ago last Saturday, has yielded the arrest of a Nashua man.

Taken into custody Monday was Brandon Barlow, 33, who is scheduled for an 11 a.m. bail hearing today in Hillsborough County Superior Court South in Nashua.

Barlow is facing charges that accuse him of selling Bailey the fentanyl on which Bailey later overdosed and died, police said.

The charge, acts prohibited – death resulting, is a special felony that carries a possible sentence of up to life in prison.

Barlow, whose last known street address wasn’t provided, is also charged with one count of sale of a controlled drug, a Class B felony punishable by up to 7 years in prison.

Bailey, who in news reports at the time of his death was listed as a resident of the town of Webster, was identified with the assistance of Nashua police, according to then-Capt. Brian Levesque, who is now Merrimack’s police chief.

An autopsy confirmed investigators’ preliminary determination that Bailey’s death was the result of an overdose, which triggered the investigation that led to Barlow’s arrest.
