Hudson woman accused of driving drunk, leaving crash scene
HUDSON – Police say officers called to a report of a 2-car crash on Burnham Road Tuesday afternoon arrived to find only one vehicle, an SUV with “apparent damage.”
It turned out there was in fact a second vehicle involved, but the driver had allegedly left the scene before officers arrived.
They were able to identify the vehicle as a 1994 Toyota Corolla, and it wasn’t long before dispatchers received a call reporting “a small Toyota sedan driving nearby with heavy front-end damage,” police said.
A short time later, officers found and pulled over the vehicle, and identified the driver as Cristina Bernard, 65, of Hudson.
After speaking with Bernard, the officers arrested her on one count each of driving while intoxicated and conduct after an accident.
Police said Bernard was booked on the charges and later released on personal recognizance bail pending a future arraignment at Nashua district court.
