Deion Ferrone, 24, of 6 Juniper Road, Windham

WINDHAM – Police said Tuesday they took into custody Deion Ferrone, a Windham resident who turned 24 just two weeks ago, and charged him with a series of offenses accusing him of holding his girlfriend against her will while allegedly assaulting her and holding a loaded revolver in her face.

Ferrone, of 6 Juniper Road, is in the Rockingham County jail pending today’s arraignment in Rockingham County Superior Court on a series of felony charges, according to Windham police Capt. Michael Caron.

They include two counts of strangulation, and one count each of first-degree assault with a firearm, second-degree assault – domestic violence, criminal restraint, criminal threatening, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, and possession of a handgun – career criminal.

Ferrone also faces two Class A misdemeanor charges of assault – domestic violence, Caron said.

The nature of the allegations against Ferrone indicate a prolonged period of alleged assaults that began when Ferrone woke up sometime Friday afternoon and allegedly began assaulting the woman, according to Caron.

He allegedly struck her “about her body, and “at one point put his hands around her neck and began choking her.

“Ferrone told the (alleged) victim she was not free to leave the residence,” Caron said.

Come Saturday morning, Ferrone, “after waking up,” allegedly resumed assaulting the woman, “throwing her around, pulling her hair,” and again choking her.

He allegedly “threatened to kill her, and pointed a loaded revolver in her face,” Caron said.

He said that at some point Saturday night, the woman was allowed to leave the residence.

But Monday morning, the alleged victim told police, she began receiving text messages “threatening to do harm to her and kill her,” Caron said.

Soon thereafter, investigators issued a warrant for Ferrone’s arrest, and around noontime yesterday, they received word that Derry police had arrested him in their town.

They transferred Ferrone to the custody of Windham police “without incident,” according to Caron.

He was booked on the charges and ordered held on preventive detention pending today’s arraignment.

A search of archived reports shows that Ferrone has been arrested before on charges of assault, threatening and a handgun-related offense, which involved allegations that he threatened to kill a man, described as Ferrone’s mother’s boyfriend, at a Manchester residence and fired a shot at him during a domestic incident in April 2018.

The shot missed the man, police said at the time, and Ferrone fled the area. He was arrested a short time later in Londonderry.

The disposition or status of that case wasn’t immediately known.
