Police well-being check turns into alleged knife threats at Nashua apartment

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Reporter | Jan 19, 2021

Kyle Miller, 34, of 230 Newton Drive, Nashua

NASHUA – Officers who went to a Newton Drive apartment Sunday afternoon to check on a man who reportedly made “suicidal statements” ended up having to convince him to drop a knife with which he allegedly threatened one of the officers.

Kyle Miller, 34, of 230 Newton Drive, was eventually taken into custody after a brief struggle with officers, police said. By then, Miller had dropped the knife in response to commands issued by the officers.

Police said that when officers arrived at Miller’s door, he came out allegedly wielding the knife, “and approached one of the officers in a threatening manner,” police said.

Neither Miller nor the officers were injured in the confrontation or during officers’ brief struggle to take him into custody.

He was charged with one count each of criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, a Class B felony, and resisting arrest or detention, a Class A misdemeanor.

Miller was booked on the charges at police headquarters and later released on personal recognizance bail pending arraignment, the date of which is not yet known.

Police ask that anyone with any additional information on the incident contact the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
