By Staff | Jan 16, 2021

The Nashua Area Artists’ Association recently announced the Winter EAST/Student Show winners.

The Emerging Art Student Talent Show, which is typically held in the spring and summer as part of the Greeley Park Art Show, had to make some changed due to the pandemic. The EAST Show is open to artists ages 6-18, the art work is broken down to four age groups, awards are given for each age group and one Best In Show.

The NAAA put out a call for art, and the young artists answered with a lot of talent. In the 6-9 year old category, the 3rd place winner is Robert D with “Back to the Future”, 2nd place with “The Pear” is Kirra T, and Harsha S won 1st place with “The Lion”. In the 10 to 12 year old age group 3rd place is Aditi Y with “Night Snow”, 2nd place is “Winter Morning” by Sophia M, and 1st place is a colorful parrot painting by Megan C. The 13-15 age group 3rd place winner is Angellise E with “Water Blade”, 2nd place goes to Brooke H with “Hidden Away by Snow” and 1st place with “Winter New England” is Marco D.

In the 16 to 18 year old, 3rd place goes to Alexis P with “Natives”, 2nd place is “The Repeated Cycle” by Melissa S, the 1st place winner is Elizabeth M with “Scrap Crab”.

The Best In Show was awarded to fifteen year old Liana Y from Windham, NH with “Bride to Be”, an amazingly detailed pencil drawing.

You can see the winners on the Nashua Area Artists’ website at www.NashuaArts.org. Along with the winners you can also see beautiful artwork submitted by other student artists. We are always amazed at the artistic talent in our area. We would like to thank the teachers and parents for inspiring and encouraging these young artistic minds! The NAAA is proud to be able to attract and show the work of these young artists and be part of their journey into art. We encourage artists of all ages to keep creating, trying different mediums and enjoying the process of their artistic endeavors.
