LONDONDERRY – A 48-year-old woman identified by police as Tracy Donahue was flown by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital Wednesday morning, the result of serious injuries she sustained in a single-car crash on Route I-93.

State police said Donahue, of Methuen, Massachusetts, was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger south on the interstate when she lost control of the vehicle near Exit 4.

The car left the road, entered a center median and crashed into a bridge abutment, police said.

Donahue, who was alone in the car, was initially taken to Parkland Medical Center in Derry, then later transported by medical helicopter to Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates speed may have been a factor in the crash, but added that a full investigation is ongoing.
