Interstate crash claims life of Bedford man

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Reporter | Jan 12, 2021

MANCHESTER – A single-car crash that police say may have been caused by excessive speed took the life of 26-year-old Bedford resident Daniel Dawson early Monday morning.

Troopers from state police Troop B in Bedford and fire and ambulance personnel from Manchester were called just after 2 a.m. to the area of the Interstate 293 and Interstate 93 merge, where the ramps to I-293 South and I-93 North come together.

Crews upon arrival located a 2014 Ford Focus that had gone off the right side of the highway and crashed into a tree, police said.

They added that “as a result of the crash, Mr. Dawson sustained fatal injuries.”

While officials are looking at speed as a possible contributing factor, police said all aspects of the incident remain under investigation.

They ask that anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has more information contact Trooper Riley LaCroix at 223-8952 or riley.lacroix@dos.nh.gov.
